Do you have the talent and expertise to help us transform the sustainability of vital services for those affected by domestic abuse in West Mercia?

West Mercia Women's Aid is looking for an experienced fundraiser to develop and grow their community fund-raising base.  We are offering the opportunity to be in the driving seat of our ambitious plans to work in partnership with national and local charitable trusts, businesses and community organisations to generate funding and 'in-kind resources' that will help us in our work to support the women, children and young people whose lives have been blighted by domestic abuse.  As WMWA's Fundraiser you will:.

  • Establish relationships with national charitable bodies, securing their interest in WMWA as a worthy beneficiary of their support
  • Develop and nurture positive relationships with local community groups, women's organisations and business
  • Co-ordinate links with local groups (eg WI, Rotary) and churches, providing regular updates and ideas on how to support WMWA
  • Develop a 'patron' scheme for major donors, including those who donate 'in kind'
  • Further develop opportunities for gifting though legacies
  • Explore the potential of Payroll Giving with local employers
  • Realise the opportunities to benefit from online giving platforms
  • Develop strong local links with supermarkets, securing a place for WMWA as one of their beneficiaries from shopper donations
  • Initiate and support local activities and events, including sponsorship opportunities

You will also play a lead role in the promotion of West Mercia Women's Aid both on and offline to increase the charity's profile and encourage giving to support our work, including the generation of content for press/media realises, and posting fundraising activity and updates on social media.

This role is offered initially for a period of 12 months, at the conclusion of which the outcomes will be evaluated and proposals for the continuation and further development of the role will be given careful consideration.

This role is offered for 24 hours per week, and attracts a competitive salary of £21,661 per annum (FTE) pro rata payment of £14,050 per annum.
